Making a natural insect repellent using lavender essential oil is simple and effective. Here's a simple recipe you can try:

Ingredients:
- 25-30 drops of lavender essential oil
- 2 tablespoons of witch hazel or vodka
- 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil or coconut oil
- 1 cup of distilled water

Instructions:
1. In a small glass bottle or container, combine the lavender essential oil and witch hazel or vodka. These act as solvents to help distribute the essential oil evenly.
2. Add the sweet almond oil or coconut oil to the mixture. This will serve as a base and provide some moisturizing properties.
3. Gently shake or stir the mixture to combine the ingredients.
4. Pour the distilled water into the mixture and continue to shake or stir until well blended. The water serves as a diluent, making the solution safe and easy to apply.
5. Transfer the mixture to a spray bottle for convenient use.

To use the natural insect repellent:
- Shake the spray bottle well before each use to ensure the oil is evenly distributed.
- Spray the mixture onto your exposed skin or clothing, focusing on areas that are more prone to insect bites.
- Reapply every few hours or as needed, especially if you are outdoors for an extended period or if you notice the repellent is becoming less effective.
